Jeremy & Jenny, Engagement Pictures in Downtown Nashville

Meet Jeremy

and Jenny

These guys chose to do their Engagement Session in front of the Flying Saucer restaurant and Union Station in downtown Nashville. The place holds special memories for them from when they began dating 6 years ago!

I was drawn like a magnet to this old train car.

The weather was gorgeous.

These two are my favorite portraits.

Then we went over to the Bicentennial Mall for the rest of the session. It is not as pretty over there this time of year as it is in the summer, so we took a few more and called it a day.

Practicing for that first dance at the wedding.

Thanks so much guys! See you soon!

Megan & Erick, Engagement Pictures in Downtown Nashville

Megan and Erick braved a chilly grey morning to meet me downtown for their engagement pictures. We wandered around finding fun new textures and spots to shoot.

They are getting married on April 19...

A favorite

Another favorite. I told you a lot of laughing.

I love that yellow bag.

This is a good one for your parents...

Erick liked the fountains on Legislative Plaza

I liked this spot too.

Thanks so much for hanging out with me guys. If you want to see all of Megan & Erick's photos when they are available, please click here to register.

Sweet Mary Elizabeth, almost 3 months

Remember these guys from a few posts back? Well Norah and I spent the day with the girls on Friday and had a few minutes to photograph little Mary Elizabeth.

Does ths dress look familiar? We were happy to share!

This outfit was made for M.E. by her interim care mother. It is so pure and simple and I love these images.

Brea & Jonathan, thanks for sharing your family with me!

Josh & Becca, Inn at Bee Rock Wedding

Saturday was finally the taste of Fall weather we had been waiting for as we traveled up I-40 to Monterey, TN to spend the day with Josh & Becca. They chose the beautiful mountain bluff of Bee Rock as the location for their wedding ceremony and reception. The Garden Inn at Bee Rock was a gorgeous retreat for the entire family and wedding party to stay the night before the wedding, and for all of the preparation for the day.

Here's Josh and Becca. Aren't they so cute? We had a great time together.

I can't say enough about Becca's thoughtful attention to detail for this wedding. You'll see in the slideshow below, that there were many many little things that made the event great. One thing she special for her Mom and Josh's Mom was to have the flowers they carried for the ceremony be mini versions of their own wedding bouquets. Isn't that sweet? The Moms were speechless when they were told about the surprise.

A great shot of Becca by Kyle - my second shooter for the day.

I still hold firm that rose petals make the most beautiful photos if you are exiting during daylight hours. Kyle took this one as well - we had identical shots from different angles but I am featuring his because of the wider angle. Check out the expressions of all the people throwing their petals.

When I first met Josh & Becca about a year ago, they told me about their plans to spend the night at the Hermitage Hotel in downtown Nashville for their wedding night. We decided then to meet downtown for a quick photo session at night before they headed in to begin their honeymoon. This is one of my favorite shots that we got on Legislative Plaza in front of the War Memorial Auditorium.

Click the play button to watch the slideshow or click HERE to watch it full screen.

We had a great day. It was so laid back and really fun to be with this group of folks. Kyle and I had a fun time - here's a quick snap of us overlooking Bee Rock at 9AM when we arrived - it was still chilly then!

Wheliss Kids, Family Portraits in Belle Meade

Last Fall I donated a Portrait Session package to the Silent Auction at the Bethany Annual Dinner. I was so excited when my domestic adoption social worker Shelby was the winning bidder! Hard to believe with the events of the last year that it took us a full 11 months to actually complete the session! But 30 minutes at the entrance to Percy Warner Park in Belle Meade, and we created some awesome pictures of the Wheliss kids!

Here's Ryland, the oldest at age 11, with his real smile

John Hill, with a knowing almost 8 year-old smirk

Beautiful Nora, almost 4, in her red bow and shiny shoes

These kids did every single thing I asked them to do without one single "ew gross" or having to be fussed at by Mom. It was perfect.

Our favorite

Nora couldn't wait to get her hands on my Norah. After every group of photos, she would say "Now can I go and play with the baby?" and when we told her yes, she took off in a flash!

Here's Shelby with Norah. Thank you so much Shelby for everything you did to support us on our journey towards Norah. We appreciate you.

Big thanks to my friend Amanda for coming along to play with Norah while we were shooting this session. It was fun chatting with you today!

April Pictage User Group Meeting in Nashville

Our April TN Pictage User Group (PUG) meeting was tonight in Nashville and we had a great time. Mirna Campos was our special guest speaker, joining us from Pictage to demo the Album Design 3.0 application. She did an excellent job and we learned a LOT! Thanks Mirna!

After the meeting, and our usual hour of standing around chatting, a bunch of us headed to the Cheesecake Factory in Green Hills for some dinner. I had the best chicken salad sandwich I think I have ever eaten!

Here's Amber and me...

Our whole group that hung out for dinner...

Mindy & Phil, Danielle, Mirna and me...

I wish Erin had shown her beautiful face here, instead of just her fun pink purse. I am shown here with my slightly sad and kind of amused face...

Joey & Amy and Whitney & Peter

This is such a great group of photographers and I am blessed to know all of you!!! Thanks to everyone else who came to the meeting tonight - we had 25 people - a high attendance for the last several months!

Drew & Sarah's Nashville Wedding Reception

Drew & Sarah's wedding reception was held at Gaylord Opryland (or Opryland Hotel, for old-school Nashvillians) in the Magnolia Ballroom. We arrived to a cocktail hour, and then the doors opened to a beautiful plated dinner and dancing the night away.

The cake was a tribute to Drew & Sarah's honeymoon...IN PARIS! Cake by Gaylord Opryland.

Here's Drew & Sarah getting down on the dance floor. Justin and Adam of Spangler Entertainment were the DJ's for the night. They kept the party going until after midnight.

Here's a shot of the last dance.

A big thank you to Drew & Sarah and the Williams and Wooldridge families for inviting me to be a part of your day. And thank you to Matt Dunmore, who joined me for the day to provide full coverage for the event. You can check out some of Matt's shots from the day HERE, and be sure to watch his slideshow too. Matt is an excellent photographer and I love it when he is available to work with me...which is not too often!

I am headed to Mississippi tonight for a wedding on Saturday...
Have a great day and get out and enjoy this gorgeous day!

Drew & Sarah's Fabulous Wedding

I promised more pictures from Drew & Sarah's fabulous wedding in Nashville on March 16, so here you go. I hope you enjoy!

After the time we spent in the spa, we headed up to Sarah's suite where she finished getting ready. Her Mom put this necklace on her, which has been worn by all the women in her family on their wedding day for many generations.

Sarah's bouquet was gorgeous. Angel at Dick's Flowers was the woman behind this great bouquet.

Here's the beautiful bride...

And the handsome groom...

A few of the happy couple...

The wedding ceremony took place at the Wightman Chapel at Scarritt Bennett in downtown Nashville. This is a gorgeous chapel built in 1928 and it is on the National Historic Register. The high ceilings and large windows make it a beautiful place for a wedding. Deanna Williams was the woman in charge of keeping the wedding on track, and let me tell you, she was great to work with...very detailed, very calm, etc. Tony & Gipsy Williams with Premier Video Productions were the videographers for the day. I enjoyed working with them as well.

Here's a shot Matt got of me working during the ceremony...

And I snagged one of him as well...

Here's the kiss...

I love this shot as Drew & Sarah exited the church, and all the wedding party began to gather and congratulate them.

It was definitely a nice day...

Sarah's Bat Mitzvah in Nashville

I had a great Saturday night at Sarah's Bat Mitzvah at City Hall in downtown Nashville. My friends Whitney & Peter of Dove asked me to come along for some backup. It was a beautiful celebration - the whole place decked out in pink & brown. It was also great to see another friend Chris Jackson, who was helping a friend of his DJ the event. Sarah made her grand entrance in a BMW convertible, a la My Super Sweet 16. It was quite a show. Thanks Whitney & Peter for having me along. Here's a few of the shots I got during the party!

Bryan & Kelly's Slideshow

Merry Christmas! I had a little time this morning before we head to my Dad's house to see what Santa brought for us, and so I put together this slideshow of Bryan & Kelly's gorgeous wedding in Nashville at the end of October. Check out those leaves!

Click the picture or click HERE to watch it. Turn up the volume - there's music.

Another word about Fall Weddings...many brides I talk with think that October is a great time for weddings because of the Fall colors. I want to give a heads up to any girls who are serious about wanting the brightly colored leaves for photos outdoors that the leaves peak around Halloween. This wedding was on Oct 28 and it was perfect. This is why I plan Fall Family Photo weekends for the first weekend in Nov. So, if you want a photo in the leaves in your wedding dress, think the end of the month, not the beginning!
