Introducing Norah Lucille Bynum (In case you haven't already heard)
We are proud to introduce our daughter!
Norah Lucille Bynum
Born May 28, 2007 at 7:25am
6 pounds 9 ounces
19.5 inches long
We found out about this sweet girl on Friday afternoon, but had to wait until yesterday at 4:30PM for it to be official. We went to the Bethany Christian Services office in Nashville today at 1:00pm to do paperwork, and then her interim care family brought her in around 1:30pm. This is when they first handed her to us.

I passed her off to Brad and look at this. It melts my heart to see him smile like that and look at her smile too!

After we visited with her for a while, her birthmother Lynette and her Auntie Sharon came in. We gave her Norah to hold and she held her for a couple hours while we talked, laughed, cried, and got to know each other. Our social worker Amanda prayed a blessing over Lynette and over Norah and us, and then we took some pics, said some goodbyes and made plans to see each other again soon.
We only took Steph with us, and she was able to document our whole experience. I made her get in a picture before she left - Brad took this one. Stephanie, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I can't tell you how much it means to us that we could trust you with this and not worry one bit about having all of the pictures to tell our story and to tell Norah about this day.

We got her home and I couldn't wait to see her from head to toe. We even got a bow in her hair, though I am not having much luck making it stay there.

Here's a quick family picture. Katy is adjusting nicely.

More later...give me a couple of days to return your calls and emails. We will work out our schedule really soon!

I don't know you or your family; although I feel like I know you just by reading your blog and through the Ms. wonderful Steph Edens. I just wanted to let you both know that I work for a foster care agency in Nashville and I have been to termination hearings and I have been there when a birth parent decides to surrender becuase her/his situation is just too hard. I have been there with families who adopted the foster children that they have. I am so glad that this birth mother loved her child enough to know that she needed to give her up. I can't even begin to imagine the pain she is experiencing. If it werent for people like you Allison and Brad, this child too would be in foster care and left to find a loving FOREVER home. I really was quite emotional when I read this and I am really happy for you both as parents, and even more happy for that precious little girl who has a family who loves and adores her and even more important, a family who is going to raise her in Christ's love. God bless and happy parenting!!!!!
P.S. All those sleepless nights will fly by......cherish absolutley everything because boy does it fly by.
I don't know you or your family, or even Stephanie Edens for that matter; however, I check both of your websites almost daily to see all of your new posts. As I read your story, I have huge tears in my eyes. My brother is currently in the process of trying to adopt and I absolutely can not wait to see them look as happy as you and your husband look. I wish you all nothing but the best that life has to offer. Your baby girl is absolutely gorgeous, and there is no doubt about the amount of love you have for her. You can just see it in your pictures. You are a wonderful person for giving this child a hope of having a wonderful life with parents that love and cherish her for who she is and is able to provide for her the life that she deserves. Best Wishes and God Bless your family. Keep your blog updated with pictures. She is gorgeous.
