Congratulations Chad & Nicole

I love this first image from Chad and Nicole's wedding today in Murfreesboro's. Nicole's grandmothers were giving her a little advice before her ceremony. I love it when you can see just how important family is through a photo like this.

Christy and I had a great time with these two families. The wedding was expertly coordinated by Wendy O'Neal of Smyrna, and every little detail fell right into place.

Chad and Nicole are off to Jamaica! We're praying for safe travels and lots of fun for them. Slideshow will be posted this week, and full coverage in 2-3 weeks.

Matthew is 3 Months Old already?

I cannot believe Baby Matthew is already 3 months old. It seems like yesterday that we were visiting proud parents Rick & Laura when he was barely a few weeks old.

Matthew was one of the best 3 month-old sessions that I have done yet. He didn't cry or fuss, just hung out and smiled for us whenever we talked to him in the "high-pitched sweet baby tone."

The complete gallery will be released in a few weeks. Watch the sidebar to the right to see when it moves from "Editing" to "Released."

Jared & Katie's Engagement Photos

Wow - this has to be one of the hottest engagement sessions I have done to date. I loved how these guys were willing to try anything and the images we got were SO worth it!

Yes, they are sitting IN the creek. I LOVE IT. I hope there are a hundred more couples out there who can think creatively with me and come up with a plan like Jared & Katie did to have a lot of fun during their engagement photos.

I am so blessed by your friendship and by your Christian examples. Here's to you!

Hanging out in the Garden of Edens...

Ha ha, like they have never heard that before.

Yesterday I went to hang out with my dear friend Stephanie Edens to lend a little technical support with her photography venture. One thing that you don't anticipate as a photographer is that so much of your business is based on your computer skills (as much or more than it is based on your pictures). Having figured it out for myself, I always jump at the chance to help a friend when they are trying to do the same thing.

So, as you can see, it wasn't going too well at first...but we pressed on and figured it out. Steph's kids were so cute too - Fletcher is a future golf star, Baby Gray (you may remember him as the baby I photographed on the antique scale) was well behaved, and little Emma, well, you can see for yourself that she was ready to perform! I love this family!

By the end of the afternoon, however, Steph's blog now resides at a new personalized address, she is uploading her pictures to Pictage, she is uploading and posting slideshows AND is tracking her website stats. It was a productive and wonderful day!

And, the reference to the garden is a real one - they have this AWESOME garden and I brought home two big juicy red tomatoes (which I have already enjoyed with tuna salad last night and sliced with salt & pepper today) and three green ones...Fried Green Tomatoes are in my future this week.

Congratulations Jeremy & Nickie

This weekend took me a few hours from home to Memphis, Tennessee for the Langley/Permenter Wedding at the beautiful Cadre Building. If you're not familiar, this location is in the heart of downtown Memphis, right next-door to the Rendezvous restaurant and a block from the Peabody hotel. It's an awesome place for a wedding.

We had fun roaming around downtown for photos with style. Not only did I love being there with Nickie & Jeremy to celebrate, but this wedding party was so easy to work with - they were up for anything, and super fun! It made for a great day.

I will be posting a slideshow in the next few days, so stay tuned! And a big thank you to Kyle for being my second-shooter, assistant, chauffer and bodyguard. He's the only second shooter I have ever employed who was actually slow-dancing with wedding guests by the end of the night. :o) I would not have wanted to do it without you!

Coffee Anyone?

Meet Sean & Dana! They are getting married in Franklin in October, and we caught up with each other last night for their engagement session. I was so excited to meet their new sweet puppy Molly. She is a doll.

Sean and Dana are self-proclaimed Starbucks addicts. So, it was fitting that a drink from Starbucks was a part of our session. It definitely captures them doing what they do at this point in their relationship. We had a great time.

Thanks for meeting me last night and I enjoyed seeing y'all and meeting Molly. Complete gallery will be available on Pictage in 2-3 weeks.

Beautiful Bride

Isn't Nicole stunning in her beautiful dress? She will be married on July 29 and her fiance Chad is going to pass out when he sees her coming down the aisle!

Congratulations Ryan & Lindsey

Oh, what fun we had today at Ryan & Lindsey's sweet wedding in Shelbyville, TN. This family was great to work with, and my second-shooter Stephanie and I really had a wonderful time.

Lindsey was so nervous before the wedding, but afterwards you could tell it was like her spirit had been set free. Ryan truly made her light up with joy. They are honeymooning in Cabo San Lucas - I wish I could have gone too!!!

Thanks for letting me be part of your big day. I will post up a slideshow in the next several days!

Scott & Janna's Album Design

I am telling you, I have been a busy girl this week! I have stayed up the past 3 nights working, and I have been getting a lot accomplished in the area of album design.

This album is from Scott & Janna's wedding on May 13 at Carahills, just outside of Memphis. I love how radiant Janna's smile is. They had a lovely wedding and reception - it was so much fun that it went by so quickly. Janna described it as a I am glad to have a great story to present to them in album form.

On a side note, these albums were made possible through the Pictage Album Designer - so if you're a photographer and you haven't tried it out, you should. It rocks!

Here's another album design, from Jennifer & David's wedding in March.

Scott & Holli's Album Design

Here's Scott & Holli's Wedding Album that I just designed and ordered. It is a 12x12 Willowbook Sequoia Album, with a black leather cover, and it's 16 pages (32 sides). What do you think of the storyline? Can you follow it?

The idea behind the storybook album is to tell the story of their day. The proof book that comes with all wedding packages contains all of the images for ordering, but this album hits the highlights. Scott & Holli are also getting a 5x5 copy of their large album. Perfect size for fitting in your purse and showing your friends!

Josh & Mary Alice's Wedding Slideshow

Isn't this a fun image from Josh & Mary Alice's getaway following their wedding ceremony on June 3 at Donelson First Baptist Church? This one was shot by Hollis Guthrie, who was my second shooter for this wedding. I love being able to bring talented professional photographers with me to cover weddings. It gives my clients double coverage and gives me a peace of mind. It is especially awesome to shoot with Hollis because he has been my mentor and coach through the process of developing my business. He also shot my wedding four years ago!

Click the image to watch a slideshow of images from Josh & Mary Alice's big day!

You may notice that these slideshows are a few weeks out from the sessions. I am thankful to be so busy this time of year, but that also means that I am working double-time to keep up. Thanks for your patience and for your business! Check back for several updates this week.

Congratulations Chris & Sally!

I enjoyed a beautiful Saturday with Chris & Sally yesterday at the Assumption Cathedral in downtown Nashville. Their wedding ceremony was awesome - my first Catholic ceremony to photograph. I love this second photo where all of their guests and the priest are blessing the couple by raising their hands and praying together. What a statement of their faith!

We got to go to the Bicentennial Mall for wedding party photos and also a few of Chris & Sally by themselves. We all loved how you can see the State Capitol (I think this is the right spelling for this use...?) Building in the background.

Sally's cousin Nellie Gould was a bridesmaid in the wedding, and is also a fabulous photographer in Peoria, IL. It was fun to meet her also. I know she also got some great shots and can't wait to see those as well.

Congratulations Chris & Sally. Stay tuned for a slideshow after I return from a little holiday vacation from work!
