Dace & Aimee
It was a cool and rainy day here in Middle Tennessee, but that didn't stop Dace & Aimee and me from starting our day at 6:30 with their engagement portrait session. We met out in historic Leiper's Fork, where their reception will be held, and had fun wandering around and taking pictures. What I love about these two is that they are really comfortable with the photojournalistic approach to their wedding photography. This means, they are not looking for me to show up on their wedding day and tell them to "look here & smile" all day long. Other than maybe 30 minutes of posed group photos for family history's sake, they are just going to live and enjoy their wedding day and I am going to capture it as it happens and tell their story. I would encourage you to consider this approach to not just wedding photography, but family and children's photography as well. Instead of trying to make your child smile at the camera for an hour, why not hire me to attend their normal activities with you and capture them being themselves? Or have me join you at your home for a few hours and follow your family around? I promise you, the result will be memories that were presented as art, instead of getting your picture made. Try it!
