Katie Greer & Travis Shoemaker, Romantic Candle-lit Wedding

Remember Katie & Travis?

We so enjoyed being a part of their romantic candle-lit wedding last Friday night at Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Hendersonville. It was a terribly gray and rainy day but that did not dampen spirits of the many many friends and family who gathered to celebrate with them.

Travis looked great. He was keeping a close eye on his truck before the ceremony. He had a feeling there might be some funny business.

Katie was ready to rock n roll! I love this shot because it is so HER. She has carried a lot of the stress of the details of the wedding. She was SO ready to get down that aisle to Travis.

Katie's mother made this beautiful garter from the lace of her own wedding gown.

See how dreamy the church looked all lit up with candles? I love the warm glow on their faces. It was a really beautiful atmosphere.

Travis played the guitar and sang one of my favorite hymns, "It is Well."

The kiss was spectacular and full of joy!

My favorite shots at every wedding are after the bride & groom get down the aisle. Typically couples embrace and laugh and kiss and it's just pure happiness. Travis and Katie were no different. She grabbed his hand to look at his ring and it just worked out for me that I was paying attention. I love his ring.

This is a first for me, but I love it and hope that I see more of it. Travis's parents brought their family Bible, and had the minister and the best man (Travis's brother) sign and date it. So special.

A couple portraits I like

I love the perspective on this shot. Look how many people were waiting on them as they entered the reception!

A shot of Katie's bouquet and the embroidered ribbons hanging down. Nice detail.

Birdseed exit

Big kiss to end the evening.

Thank you so much for letting me be part of your wedding. Have a great honeymoon next week! Thanks also to Steph for coming along as my second shooter.

Wamble Family Portraits in Lebanon, TN

I am always excited when another photographer contacts me to take their pictures. It is the curse of every photographer who is a parent - you can't take the pictures you want of your family and be in them at the same time. It is hard to act naturally and play with your kids AND try and get a picture of it too!

When Heather Wamble of Yet to Be Photography and Design in Lebanon contacted me about photographing her family, I was flattered and delighted all at the same time.

Heather is a beautiful woman with a joyful spirit

And her husband Mike has one of those grins that lets you know he is always up to something...

And together, they make a wonderful team

I had a lot of fun hanging out with Heather, Mike and their three blonde-headed boys at Fiddlers Grove in Lebanon on Saturday morning, even though it was a little cloudy and a lot chilly!

Photographers' kids generally have a bad reputation because their parents are always sticking the camera in their faces. But Ethan, John Patrick and Luke were ALL very agreeable.

And handsome

This is my favorite shot of the boys

Aren't they a cute family?

This is my favorite family shot!

Heather, thanks so much for trusting me to capture these images of your family. I am thrilled for you because I know exactly how it feels to be in your shoes! The family images that have been created for us by other photographers are now some of my most prized posessions! Hope to ship out the remaining images very soon!

Live United Ad Campaign Photos for United Way of Rutherford County

I spent the last two days hanging out with the fabulous staff, volunteers, board members and agency representatives of the United Way of Rutherford & Cannon Counties. I am thrilled to share these images that will be used in the kickoff of their brand new "Live United" branding campaign. The next several blog posts will be my favorite shots from our two day commercial shoot. We had a blast!

I love the concept of these images - very "Gap ad," as described by my friend Amanda. Check out the slideshow below, or click HERE to view it full screen.

Another shot of Jeff & Anne's Wedding in Franklin

I am working on uploading one of my last weddings from 2007 tonight and I came across this striking image of Jeff & Anne's Wedding. I hadn't noticed it in my previous post. I love it when I find more images to fall in love with after I haven't seen them in a while.

I am only accepting a few more wedding commissions for 2008, so if you're interested let me know. I am trying hard to only accept the amount of business that I can handle appropriately now that I am balancing running a business with being a stay at home mommy too.

Hank's 6 Month Portraits

Jeremy & Jenny, Engagement Pictures in Downtown Nashville

Meet Jeremy

and Jenny

These guys chose to do their Engagement Session in front of the Flying Saucer restaurant and Union Station in downtown Nashville. The place holds special memories for them from when they began dating 6 years ago!

I was drawn like a magnet to this old train car.

The weather was gorgeous.

These two are my favorite portraits.

Then we went over to the Bicentennial Mall for the rest of the session. It is not as pretty over there this time of year as it is in the summer, so we took a few more and called it a day.

Practicing for that first dance at the wedding.

Thanks so much guys! See you soon!
